I’ve always been into health things and bettering myself. It’s part of the reason I was a dietetics major for two years (I jumped ship though and became a business major). I’ve been following Julia Ledbetter on instagram for a while now; I’ve always loved her story and what she had to say and how she felt about her body. It was incredible to me! I have always loved my body and I always will. It’s gone through a tragedy and put itself back together again better than anyone could have hoped for. Listening to Julie’s inspirational talks about your body and how it fluctuates are amazing to remind you, again, how much your body changes in a 24 hour period.
Anyway, to get to the point of this post. 8 weeks ago, I purchased the Macro E-Book from the Ledbetter’s Company. I had heard about reversing dieting for a while and I decided to finally try it! Reverse Dieting: Slowing working your calories up from a deficit until you hit your bodies maintenance calories. This increases your metabolism without you gaining weight. Meaning, when you want to cut down on body fat you’ll be able to eat more and still lose weight, without starving yourself.
I’m very happy to say that, even though I haven’t lost any weight, I’m eating around 400 calories more a day and I’ve lost 5 inches on my body! I’ve lost two whole on inches of my waist! Which is where my body likes to hold on to fat the most. This is obviously a journey to living a healthy/happy lifestyle instead of a diet, so you can be sure that I’m not done reverse dieting yet until I get up to eating 2,000 calories a day.
I mostly just wanted to share about how impressed I am with the Ledbetter team and the community that they’ve created on Facebook and how many people have come together to reach their health goals. It’s amazing to see so many people supporting each other and offering up ideas and help when someone asks for it. I would highly recommend looking into any of their guides, clothing lines, or just following them on instagram to to be motivated daily.
Like their motto says, Live Every Day Better.
